Journal of Research in Progress (JRIP) at HCC Research Summary Submissions

Submission Criteria

Submissions are open to current HCC students and students who graduated or transferred from HCC within one year of the volume’s publication.

Your project does not need to be finished when you submit this form. However, you should have a clear idea of where your project is headed and a realistic timeline for completing your work. You do not need to follow a template.

Students accepted during the initial review will have until February to complete and submit their full paper. Before submitting, consider whether you can realistically complete your research and write a full paper by February. If not, you are welcome to submit during the next JRIP cycle.

Eligible Research Projects

Projects may include work started or completed during the past academic year, including work from the spring semester and, in some cases, the fall semester.

At the time you submit, you should be working with an HCC faculty or staff mentor who can support your research project. Before submitting, please speak with your prospective mentor and confirm that they are willing and able to assist with your project and its development for JRIP.

If your preferred mentor is unfamiliar with JRIP, they are welcome to reach out to us with questions.

Your Submission Will Require

• Name(s) and contact information for the student researcher(s) and faculty/staff mentor(s)
• A tentative title for your research project
• A clearly articulated research question
• Research tasks already completed
• Research tasks still to be completed
• A realistic timeline for completing the remaining work

Projects may be completed individually or as a group.
