Explore Undergraduate Research Opportunities
Undergraduate Research at HCC allows students to contribute to their field of study while gaining hands-on experience that supports their academic and career goals.
Student researchers work with HCC faculty mentors in research experiences that prepare them for research at transfer institutions. Participants learn research methods, data analysis and research ethics while completing one to four for-credit courses. Students also conduct original research and present their work at conferences and poster sessions on and off campus.
Students can further develop their research skills through projects, conferences, training and publications.

- Student- and faculty-driven research topics, including Capstone and URSC
- Capstone seminar sequence
- Phi Theta Kappa Honors in Action project
- Individual and group research projects
- Professional development, including Institutional Review Board (IRB) training
- Conference travel, publication and presentation opportunities
