HCC is the place to start your journey to a great career or an affordable college degree, so let us help you get started. Follow the links below to discover everything you need to know about our admissions and registration process, plus how to pay for your education. Before or during this process, feel free to browse through our credit and noncredit programs to find the perfect path for you.

Looking for noncredit classes for professional development, credentials, or personal enrichment? Register for noncredit classes in our continuing education and workforce development division.

Step 1: Apply

If you are not yet an HCC student, your first step is to apply. The link below will take you to our online application, where the first step is to create an account. Once you create an account, you can start the application.

Apply to HCC

When you complete the application, we will reach out to you with further information and instructions. If you have questions during this process, you can reach us at 443-518-1200 or adm-adv@howardcc.edu.

Step 2: Take Placement Tests

Once you've completed your application, the next step is placement testing. Placement test results will help you select the right classes to start your college education. You may be exempt from placement tests based on your high school GPA, grades in previous classes, and scores from the SAT, ACT, GED or PARCC exams.

To review your placement options, visit the Test Center webpage and contact advising@howardcc.edu.
