High School Admission
HCC offers a broad range of educational pathways to get you to your goal, whether it is earning an associate degree, transferring to a four-year university, or learning the skills necessary to head to work. The following programs are designed specifically for current or graduating high school students, and we encourage you to explore and find the right one for you.
Freshman Focus Program: HCC's open entry program for graduating high school seniors. If you participate, you will receive early testing, advising, and registration dates to help you finish the enrollment process before graduating from high school.
Honors Programs: The James W. Rouse Scholars and STEM Scholars are selective honors academic programs for graduating high school seniors. The Frederick K. Schoenbrodt Scholars Program is designed to challenge students of all ages and majors with rigorous course work. All programs offer a supportive environment with mentoring, professional development and service learning.
Silas Craft Collegians Program: A selective program for highly motivated students whose past academic history does not reflect full potential.
Early Entrance Program (Dual and concurrent enrollment): Designed for high school students who want to enroll in HCC courses while still in high school.
STARTALK Summer Language Program: An intensive summer language program for high school students from ninth grade to graduating seniors who are interested in learning critical need languages. The program is a selective admissions program for students interested in studying Arabic or Mandarin Chinese.
