Student Clubs and Organizations

Student clubs are an important part of campus life. Students may join or start clubs, which keeps life at HCC current and vibrant. Below is a sample of the student clubs at HCC. Don't see a club that you're interested in? Start your own! To learn more about how to join or start a club, visit the Student Government Association page on myHCC or contact the Student Government Association at sga@howardcc.edu or 443-518-4573.

Academic Clubs

Pre-Med and Allied Health Club: The Pre-Med and Allied Health Club’s mission is to help network students interested in pre-med and pre-allied health with different resources that can help them gain experience in the medical field.

Student American Dental Hygienist Association: The mission of the Student American Dental Hygienist Association (SADHA) is to provide dental hygiene program students with social and educational support during their vigorous dental hygiene program studies.

Identity Affirming and Social Justice Clubs

Asian Student Union: The mission of the Asian Student Union (ASU) is to promote unity, center and embrace diverse Asian cultures, and manifest the vast amount of customs, traditions, and celebrations of students at HCC.

Black Student Union: The mission of the Black Student Union (BSU) is to unify the Black diaspora and to inform HCC students about cultural and societal issues.

HCC Jewish Group: The HCC Jewish Group is a group that celebrates, educates, enjoys and shares activities, traditions, holidays and topics of interest to Jews and others interested in Jews and Judaism. All students, no matter what their religious beliefs, can be part of the HCC Jewish Group (HCC JG).

Muslim Student Association: The Muslim Student Association’s (MSA) mission is to unite and form a companionship with Muslims on campus, with events and through other platforms.

Religious/Spiritual Clubs

CRU (Crusade for Christ): CRU is a community where the Gospel captures hearts, transforms lives and launches men and women into a lifelong adventure with Jesus Christ.

First Love: The mission of First Love is to raise up seasoned Christian leaders for our generation to impact their world.

HCC CMI: The mission of HCC CMI is to connect students and engage in fellowship while learning about the word of God.

Service and Social Action

Environmental Club: The mission of the Environmental Club is to create awareness of environmental protection, conservation, preservation, and restoration. Also, empower students to take action to combat climate change.

From Me 2 You: The mission of From Me 2 You is to connect students with the community through acts of service.

Student Veteran Organization: The mission of the Student Veterans Organization is to create a thriving social community of student veterans on the Howard Community College campus and to continue service to the community through volunteer work.

Special Interest Clubs

Alliance and Acceptance: The mission of Alliance and Acceptance is to create a safe and confidential space for students to share their experiences and build new connections.

Artist’s Closet: The Artist’s Closet’s mission is to expand the arts at HCC and provide support for young artists as they navigate the art world. We want to create an open environment for artists to create, share, and collaborate on work.

Chess Club: The mission of Chess Club is to provide space for anyone interested in playing the game of chess, from novices to experts.

Creative Writing Club: The mission of the Creative Writing Club is to create a space in which people can work on, share, talk about, and receive feedback on their personal creative writing projects as well as connect with other writers.

Dragon Robotics Club: The Dragon Robotics Club’s mission is to apply STEM technologies and concepts in the field of robotics to gain experience and knowledge of real-world problems while working in a cooperative, diverse team environment.

Dual Enrollment Student Club: The mission of the Dual Enrollment Student Club is to create an environment for students who are in high school and attend HCC in person to be able to get to know each other and talk about their experiences.

Poli-Law Club: The Poli-Law Club’s mission is to create an environment for aspiring political and law students and anyone who is interested to help build future career paths, guide their interests in different laws of practice, challenge one another’s debate skills, and practice voicing opinions.

Table Tennis: The mission of the Table Tennis club is to bring students together to socialize while playing table tennis.

Women in Cybersecurity: The mission of the Women in Cybersecurity Club at Howard Community College is to build a community within the academic institution that promotes women’s education, participation, and leadership in the field of cybersecurity.
