Student Government Association
SGA: Your voice at HCC
The Student Government Association (SGA) goal is to involve students in the administrative, legislative and judicial governance of the college. The SGA is a democratic, student-run unit, representing the views and advocating for the needs of HCC students. Led by a president elected by the student body, SGA members sit on HCC administrative committees, oversee all student club organizations and are actively involved in the campus community.
How Can You Get Involved in the SGA?
Opportunities in SGA include officers, representatives and student senators. Student senators serve with members of the college faculty, staff and administration on committees spanning curriculum and instruction, policy and procedure, commencement, diversity, equity and inclusion, enrollment management, facilities planning, food service, and more!
SGA hosts monthly meetings to facilitate club business, discuss upcoming activities, and handle logistical needs. They also host monthly Town Halls designed to collect and share information with the student body. This is an opportunity for students to present concerns and questions, speak with administration about matters that impact the student experience, and connect with important campus resources.
