More Information
Program Eligibility
We aim to keep our courses as inclusive as possible and tailored to students with a variety of abilities and learning challenges.
Age
Inclusive Learning Programs is designed for adult learners ages 18 and older.
Student Expectations
Inclusive Learning Programs (ILP) is committed to offering courses that are accessible and inclusive for students with a wide range of abilities and learning needs. To help maintain a safe and positive environment for everyone, students must be able to navigate campus independently and follow HCC’s Student Code of Conduct. First-time students are required to review and sign a waiver and program contract. Students who disrupt the learning environment or compromise the safety of others may be withdrawn from their class or, if necessary, the program.
Prerequisites
Some of the programs, including courses in our Math for Life series and our CORE Afternoon Enrichment program, require an intake interview to determine eligibility and ensure course placement is aligned to skill level and learning goals. Please email ILP@HowardCC.Edu to schedule your intake as early as possible.
Accommodations
Students who require accommodations to participate in ILP classes can register through Disability Support Services.
Inclusive Learning Programs encourages students to participate in adaptive classes independently, supporting both learning and social engagement. If a student requires assistance for safety or personal care, caregivers are to remain outside the classroom. In certain cases, students may request approval to bring a Personal Care Attendant through Disability Support Services. Please note that ILP does not provide support staff, instructional aides, or assistants.
Registration
Registration for our Fall 2026 offerings opens on June 16, 2026 and remains open until two weeks before the course start date, or until the course is full. If a course is full, please email ILP@HowardCC.edu to be put on a waitlist.
