Launch or grow your business through the Entrepreneurship Launch Series, funded by the TEDCO Baltimore Innovation Initiative grant to strengthen the region’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. During the 2026–27 academic year, tuition is fully covered, and participants pay just a $50 fee per course. Space is limited, so register early.

Curious about launching your own business or exploring entrepreneurship as a career? The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp is a fast-paced, hands-on, two-day program that introduces aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs to the fundamentals of entrepreneurial thinking and venture creation.

The program emphasizes hands-on learning through interactive activities, collaboration, and practical exercises.

Participants who successfully complete all coursework and the capstone activity will earn an Entrepreneurship Fundamentals Digital Badge. This verifiable credential demonstrates mastery of foundational entrepreneurship skills and can be shared on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, portfolios, and personal websites. Digital badges serve as trust signals that showcase your commitment to professional growth and entrepreneurial excellence.

Participant Eligibility

Must be a Maryland resident and a U.S. citizen.
Must be 18 years old or older.
Participants must complete all coursework and the capstone activity to earn the Entrepreneurship Fundamentals digital badge.

The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp is an intensive, fast-paced, hands-on program designed to introduce aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs to the fundamentals of entrepreneurial thinking and venture creation. Through engaging workshops, interactive activities, and real-world applications, participants will develop an entrepreneurial mindset, generate and validate business ideas, and develop a business pitch. The bootcamp emphasizes practical tools, collaboration, and experiential learning to prepare participants for the next state of their entrepreneurial journey. Do I need to have a business idea before participating?

No, you do not need an existing business or business idea to benefit from the bootcamp. Participants will learn how to identify market opportunities, generate business ideas, test assumptions, and evaluate concepts using proven entrepreneurial methods. If you already have an idea, the program will help you refine and strengthen it.
Why is there a need for the Bootcamp?

With nearly 50% of small businesses failing within five years, a great idea alone is not enough to build a successful business. Entrepreneurs need the right mindset, a realistic understanding of what it takes to launch and grow a venture, and the ability to identify real customer needs and market opportunities. This Bootcamp helps participants assess their readiness for entrepreneurship while learning practical tools to assess their readiness, validate ideas, understand their target market, and make informed decisions before investing significant time and resources. The result is a stronger foundation for turning an idea into a viable business.
What opportunities are available after completing the bootcamp?

The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp is designed as an entry point into Howard Community College's growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. Graduates may pursue additional training opportunities through the Center for Entrepreneurial and Business Excellence (CEBE), including specialized entrepreneurship design and implementation, mentorship opportunities, networking events, and the 7-Week Summer Accelerator Program, which helps entrepreneurs further develop ventures, funding strategies, and pitching skills.

Howard Community College's Entrepreneurship Bootcamp combines practical learning, expert guidance, digital credentials, and real-world entrepreneurship tools in an affordable and accessible format. Unlike many programs that focus primarily on theory, the bootcamp emphasizes action, experimentation, and application. The program is designed to help diverse learners, including returning adults and early-stage entrepreneurs, gain the confidence, skills, and connections needed to move from idea to opportunity.
Does this course have technology requirements, or a required textbook?

No textbook is required for this bootcamp. All course materials and resources will be provided by the instructor.

Participants are welcome to bring their own laptop or mobile device; however, computers will also be available in the classroom for student use. While technology can be helpful for certain activities, it is not required to successfully participate in the program.
What is the schedule for the two-day Bootcamp?
The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp meets from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on both days.

Each day includes:
- A 30-minute lunch break
- One 15-minute morning break
- One 15-minute afternoon break
The schedule is designed to balance interactive learning, hands-on activities, collaboration, and time for networking with fellow participants while maintaining a fast-paced and engaging experience.

Coming in Spring 2027: The Entrepreneurship Accelerator

The Entrepreneurship Accelerator will be a results-driven, seven-week course designed for emerging entrepreneurs who have developed a viable business idea and are ready to launch or scale their business. Through hands-on guidance, expert mentorship, and applied learning, participants will complete key tasks essential to building, funding, marketing, and launching their ventures. More information and registration will be available in November 2026.
