
Medical Insurance Billing A-Z Plus
This course is designed to prepare students to perform medical insurance billing in a physician’s office, clinic or a similar health care setting. The curriculum will incorporate principles of the ICD-10-CM and ICD-CM/PCS system and how the implementation of this system impacts accurate billing processes and HIPAA compliance with simulated practice using manual and electronic preparation of insurance claims. Topics include: medical/healthcare office management, electronic health records, insurance processing guidelines, entering charges, submitting insurance claims, posting insurance payments, completion and submission of Medicare, Medicaid, and a variety of commercial credentialing applications techniques required to ensure receipt of optimum provider payments, and best collection practices including writing and submitting appeal letters.
