Become a CT Technologist
The need for trained diagnostic professionals is growing at a fast rate as the senior population continues to expand in Howard County and surrounding areas. Employment of Computed Tomography (CT) technologists is projected to increase by 9% by 2028, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
CT Technologist Training at HCC
HCC offers a continuing education CT program in partnership with the credit Health Sciences Division. This program is ideal for diagnostic technologists who are interested in becoming more competitive in the workforce by enhancing their credentials.
To earn a Certificate of Completion, you must fulfill the required number of classwork and clinical hours (eight to 15 months) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). You will then be eligible to sit for the national exam.
CT Coursework
The CT Program’s course offerings are structured as a two day a week hybrid course that is broken up into didactic and clinical sections.
Didactic Section Schedule:
Students only have to be on campus every Tuesday, the first and last Wednesday. On Wednesday, students will participate in the course using HCC’s Learning Management System (LMS) called CANVAS.
Clinical Section Schedule:
The clinical sections of the program will be offered during each course, but the frequency will change from course-to-course.
-
Introduction to CT Principles, Patient Care, Sectional Anatomy, and Procedures
