In this instructor-led, online course, you will build a solid foundation in network security concepts and practices. Through a combination of lecture and lab, you’ll explore key security technologies, threats, and countermeasures, and learn to design a basic network with proper security structures in place. Topics include attacks and threat actors, data protection principles, TCP/IP vulnerabilities, cryptography, wireless and mobile security, and authentication and account management. This course prepares students for the CompTIA Security+ exam. Access to a computer, internet, and Canvas login are required. Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and TCP/IP protocols is strongly recommended. A strong background in computer and network administration is highly recommended.
