The Howard Community College (HCC) Board of Trustees announces a change of format and closed session for their January 21, 2026, work session and January 28, 2026, regular meeting. The meetings will be conducted virtually via Zoom. A watch room will be made available for public use in McCuan Hall, room 201/202. The board will be conducting a certain portion of these meetings in closed session under the Maryland Open Meetings Act, Title 3 of the General Provisions Article 3-303 (b).

Howard Community College (HCC) will host the American College Theatre Festival (ACTF) Region II Conference January 13–17, welcoming over 500 theatre students and faculty members from colleges and universities across the Mid-Atlantic. HCC is the first community college in the region to host the prestigious festival and was selected as the host in January 2025.

Morency brings more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience in public safety, security operations, and community engagement to the role. HCC and MedStar Health have announced a new Cardiovascular Technician (CV Tech) Registered Apprenticeship Program, launching in January 2026. Through this innovative partnership, 15 apprentices will be employed full-time by MedStar Health while completing HCC’s Cardiovascular Technology certificate program. “This program is a powerful example of what happens when higher education and industry come together to meet workforce needs,” said HCC President Daria J. The meeting, originally scheduled for November 12, will now be on November 18, 2025. It will still take place virtually at 8:30 a.m. and a watch room will be available in McCuan Hall, room 201/202.
