Howard P.R.I.D.E.

Howard P.R.I.D.E. is a program designed to increase student success by improving math completion, retention, and graduation rates. Students who participate in Howard P.R.I.D.E. quickly discover that the program is about much more than courses and grades. The support students receive through P.R.I.D.E. helps guide them through their academic, professional, and personal development.
How can students benefit from joining the P.R.I.D.E. program?
Howard P.R.I.D.E. provides support through advising, academic monitoring, tutoring, and individualized academic planning. Leadership and student success workshops help participants develop the skills needed to successfully navigate college and the work environment. P.R.I.D.E. students also have opportunities to network with peers who share similar educational and career goals.
What are the eligibility criteria to participate in the P.R.I.D.E. program?
Students must:
- Be enrolled in six or more credits
- Be enrolled in a college-level mathematics course
- Plan to graduate from Howard Community College and/or transfer to a four-year college or university
- Meet satisfactory academic progress requirements
- Participate in required program activities
What is expected of P.R.I.D.E. members?
Participants are expected to:
- Purpose: Maintain a goal of earning a college degree.
- Respect: Serve as an ambassador for the P.R.I.D.E. program.
- Initiative: Participate in leadership activities.
- Determination: Meet with their advisor regularly and stay on track academically.
- Excellence: Strive for academic excellence.
