Prepare for Graduate School Entry Exams

This continuing education course is designed to provide review to prospective teachers for the new Praxis Core Exam. Topics will include test taking strategies, review and techniques for each of the three exam areas, and tools for studying and preparing for the exam. This course meets on Zoom. 2.4 CEUs
This course is designed for prospective teacher who need to pass the Praxis Core exam to obtain teacher certification. Emphasis is placed on the math portion of the exam. Topics will include a review of math and geometry fundamentals; percents, ratios and proportions, algebraic equations, statistics and probability, graphs, and useful test taking strategies. This course meets on Zoom.1.2 CEUS
Ages 15+. If you are planning to take the SAT, this updated course will prepare you for both the verbal and math sections. Verbal preparation will ask you to interpret the meanings of relevant words and phrases in context, utilize close reading to increase comprehension, and identify central ideas and themes of a text. The optional essay section will also be covered. Math preparation includes mastery of linear expressions, creating and solving equations, using ratios, percentages and units, problem solving, and data analysis. Students should have completed Algebra II. Test taking tips will be covered. The class simulates a test-taking environment with practice tests and exercises. You must bring a calculator. This course is for high school students. This class meets on campus every Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Students are expected to spend an additional 3 hours per week on independent coursework at home. Course enrollment will close Thursday prior to start of class to allow for course preparation.

This is a hybrid class.
Ages 15+. If you are taking the SAT and only need preparation in the math section, you should take this updated course. Math preparation includes multi-step problems with applications in science, social science, career scenarios, and other real-life contexts. Students should have completed Algebra II. Test taking tips will be included. The class simulates a test-taking environment with practice tests and exercises. You must bring a calculator. This course is for high school students. This class meets on campus every Saturday, from 11:15 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Students are expected to spend an additional one hour per week on independent coursework at home. Course enrollment will close Thursday prior to start of class to allow for course preparation.

Ages 15+. If you are taking the SAT and only need preparation in the verbal section, you should take this updated course. Verbal preparation includes vocabulary and reading comprehension such as understanding the author's message, rhetoric, synthesis, and understanding relationships in passages. Test taking tips will be included. The class simulates a test-taking environment with practice tests and exercises. This course is for high school students. This class meets on campus every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Students are expected to spend an additional two hours per week on independent coursework at home. Course enrollment will close Thursday prior to start of class to allow for course preparation.
