
Sunshine Account Policy - 61.16
College Procedure Number/Title:
Howard Community College operates a sunshine account that is funded from auxiliary services to send condolences or good wishes to friends of the college or college employees in the form of flowers, plants, fruit baskets, Howard Community College Educational Foundation gift bricks, or contributions to charities. These items are sent in the event of a birth, adoption, extended hospital stay, death or death in the immediate family, or other occasions deemed appropriate by the area vice president or the president. In the event of a death or death in the immediate family, donations may be given to a designated charity. Gifts or donations are not to exceed $100 per request.
Sunshine requests should align with the immediate family relationships noted in procedure 63.08.03, Bereavement Leave.
