HCC President Daria J. Willis has announced Jane-Ellen Miller as the college's interim Chief Information Officer. Miller, an expert in strategic planning, needs analysis, and system implementation and integration, brings more than 30 years of experience to HCC.

HCC joined Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and the Community Action Council (CAC) of Howard County to announce the expansion of early childhood education opportunities in the county, including an on-campus Children’s Learning Center (CLC) that will encourage degree completion among student parents. “Partnerships such as this with the CAC allow our students to meet their academic goals while preparing the next generation of learners," said HCC President Dr. Daria J. HCC President Dr. Daria J. Willis announced that Dr. Ty Stone will be the college's Executive VP for Finance and Administration starting July 1, 2024. "Dr. Stone is a professional of the highest caliber and truly lives our ethos of meeting students where they dream," said Dr. Willis. To commemorate Juneteenth, over 20 volunteers from the CareFirst Black Professional Network assisted the Fueling Dragons program by working in the HCC garden and food pantry, which serves roughly 450 students per month during the fall and spring semesters. "[The support] is going to be incredibly helpful. This is peak garden season, and we have so few students on campus who would be helping out and volunteering," HCC Fueling Dragons Coordinator Tricia Zadjura said. Learn More!

On May 1, 2024, eight of Howard Community College's entrepreneurial program students pitched their innovative business ideas to a panel of business professionals at the spring "Rocket Pitch" Entrepreneurial Celebration. Helen Rose, master adjunct professor and coordinator of the entrepreneurship program: "These students started off the semester with examining their communities, looking at our society, and finding problems that needed to be solved."
