- Canada – Dr. Willis joins the Howard County Executive and the HCEDA for a trade mission to Canada, focusing on workforce development.
- Las Vegas, Nevada – Alternative Winter Break participants learn about housing and migrant rights through service projects, including sorting clothing donations and distributing meals at a homeless shelter.
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Alternative Spring Break participants address issues of food justice by preparing gardens at community farms and packing and distributing food donations.
- Fort Myers, Florida – Alternative Winter Break participants focus on environmental justice issues through cleaning trails and assisting with rebuilding hurricane-damaged houses.
- Bermuda – Students study oceanography at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science.
- Ecuador – HCC hosts the first noncredit cultural and language immersion study abroad program.
- Ireland, United Kingdom and Germany – Dr. Willis joins Howard County’s European trade mission focusing on cybersecurity and IT.
- France – Culinary students participate in a four-day French baking intensive at Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Pâtisserie.
- Switzerland – Sous-chef from the Residence of the Swiss Ambassador leads a Swiss cuisine masterclass for culinary students.
- Italy – Students travel to Rome and Naples to study world history from prehistory to the Middle Ages.
- Greece – Students foster global awareness and cultural appreciation through studying ancient world history.
- Senegal – HCC welcomes the first student from Qayya Academy for pilot program with the college’s English Language Center.
- China – HCC hosts a delegation of vocational college leaders from Anhui Province to learn about workforce development pathways.
- Korea – Community Education staff meet with State Department leaders and partners to discuss resources to support North Korean refugees settling in the United States.
- Japan – Dr. Willis, administrators, senior leadership and faculty travel to Japan to sign a historic academic partnership with Setsunan University in Neyegawa, Japan.
