In this hands-on class, students will develop quilting skills by learning to construct traditional blocks such as Five Square Knots, Log Cabin, Bow Tie, North Star, Flying Geese, Monkey Wrench, and Bear's Paw. Emphasis will be on cutting, piecing, and assembling quilt blocks with precision. While building technical skills, students will also explore the historical significance of each design in the context of the Underground Railroad. Bring your portable sewing machine. Instructor: June Piper-Brandon.
