Young Engineers
Ages 8–10. Get ready to gear up for greatness! In this hands-on course, students will explore the nuts and bolts of mechanical engineering, literally! Learn how machines move and work by experimenting with concepts like oscillation, the Lever Principle, mechanical advantage, and gear and belt systems. Then, put your knowledge into action by designing and building 3D models of machines using LEGO®-style bricks. From trucks and cranes to elevators and swings, each build brings engineering ideas to life in a fun, creative way. By the end, you’ll understand how the simple mechanisms behind your creations connect to the amazing machines all around us! Offered in cooperation with Youth Science Leadership and Arts Club, LLC. 1 week.
