Woodworking 101: Saw It, Sand It, Nailed It!
Ages 14+. “Wood” you believe how much you can build in one course? In this saw-sational beginner’s woodworking experience, students will learn to safely use basic hand and power tools while crafting three unforgettable take-home projects. Students kick things off by creating a wooden toy animal—choose from a spotted leopard, a towering giraffe, and more! Each creature becomes a prime example of how different tools shape different results, giving students plenty of room to add their own un-be-leaf-ably creative twists. Next, students will cut loose with a custom cutting board. Using their new skills, they’ll design, shape, and personalize a board that’s equal parts functional and fantastic. Then it’s time to hammer home their learning with a wooden toolbox build. Students will create a sturdy, stylish toolbox perfect for holding their tools—and showing off their new craftsmanship—long after the course ends. By the end, students will leave with new skills, new confidence, and three projects they’ll be proud to say they wood-n’t trade for anything. 1 week.
