Video Game Animation

Ages 8–10. Animations come to life with the design tools used by real game developers! Students will create advanced sprite animations using easy-to-learn techniques applicable in any 2D editor. They will use techniques like squash, stretch, and shading to make their characters stand out! No prior experience in game design, animation, or sketching is required. Student-created games will be showcased on a password-protected Black Rocket website for sharing with friends and family, and most of the program will involve collaboration in pairs or teams. Compatible with Mac, Windows, and Chrome OS. Offered in cooperation with Black Rocket Productions, LLC. 1 week.
