Fantasy and Sculpture

Ages 11–14. Fantasy art evolved out of imagery inspired by Greek mythology, medieval monsters, and the imaginations of many artists. This course is an introduction to the setting, events, and characters found in the Fantasy genre. Students will experiment and design drawings of magical creatures and scenes from their imagination or reference images and explore how different kinds of characters respond to adversity and adaptation. Students will enhance their skills by transforming their two-dimensional artwork into three dimensional polymer clay sculptures, mastering form and texture. 1 week.
