
CDA Child Development Associate
The Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential is the most widely recognized national credential in early childhood education (ECE) and is a key stepping stone on this path to career advancement. Howard Community College is offering a specific course designed to navigate through the application process with time to create the portfolio and practice for the interview and demonstration. It is the final step in a detailed and thorough certification process. Prerequisites: Successful completion of the following courses: Child Growth and Development, Infant and Toddler Care OR Preschool Curriculum and Activities, and Child Care Administration or 120 hours of professional education covering the CDA’s eight subject areas. Must have 350 hours of work experience working with children in an early childhood setting. Refunds issued up until seven days before course start date. Purchase textbooks and a two-inch three-ring binder with page protectors prior to class start date. (T) 2.2 CEUs.
(Flexible online classes use Canvas. Students will receive an automated email from HCC Password Services two weeks before the class start date.
