
Vino Scholastico to “Raise a Glass, Raise a Scholarship” for Students April 28
Columbia, MD – The Howard Community College Educational Foundation’s 17th annual Vino Scholastico wine tasting fundraiser supports college programs and scholarships for Howard Community College (HCC) students. The event will take place on Friday, April 28, 2023, on the Howard Community College campus at 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Duncan Hall with a limited-seating VIP reception and “Demystifying Wine” presentation with Maria Bell of The Wine Bin. The general tasting will follow at 7:30 p.m. in Academic Commons and will feature tastings of wines (including zero-alcohol options), craft beers, and spirits as well as delicious samples from area restaurants. Additionally, culinary students in the college’s baking and pastry showpieces class will prepare and serve delicious desserts and coffee in the Dragon’s Fire Café located on the lower level of Academic Commons.
Entertainment will be provided by DJ Justin White from J White Productions, and guests may purchase an entry into the Black Bag Drawing for a chance to win one of six exciting prizes: The Connoisseur Collection (collection of wines, craft beers, spirits, gift, and certificates to area restaurants, three available to win); a gift certificate for a wine making package from Tin Lizzie Wineworks; a Maryland Live! Casino package for two (includes overnight accommodations, dinner at the Prime Rib restaurant, and casino credits), or a beautiful custom-made piece of jewelry from Everett Jewelers.
