Enrollment at HCC has grown by more than 4.6% over the last year. The increase is two percent higher than the full-time equivalent (FTE) statewide average and establishes the college’s final headcount numbers as the school’s highest figure since 2020.

Howard Community College (HCC) announces the Public Employee Relations Board (PERB) has officially certified the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Maryland, as the exclusive representative for the purposes of collective bargaining for full-time HCC faculty.

HCC announces the appointment of Jarrett Carter Sr. in the new position of vice president of external affairs, communications, and advancement. Mr. Carter brings years of higher education, government, and private sector experience to HCC. He joins the college on September 1, 2023 and will oversee the areas of public relations and marketing, and development.

The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) of Howard Community College (HCC) have submitted a petition to the Employee Relations Board on behalf of HCC. The college acknowledges the faculty's right to unionize and awaits official notification of the union's status.
