The Howard Community College Board of Trustees announces a special meeting and closed session to be held on September 3, 2024 at 5 p.m. in The Rouse Company Foundation Student Services Hall, room 400.

The Howard Community College Board of Trustees has elected its officers and scheduled its meetings for fiscal year (FY) 2025. The board elected Sean Keller as chair and Vivian Moore Lawyer as vice chair for FY 2025.

HCC announced that New York Times-bestselling author of “Clap When You Land,” Elizabeth Acevedo, will deliver the free keynote at the fourth annual Bauder Lecture on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024. The 12:30 p.m. lecture will be in a hybrid format, both in-person at the Monteabaro Recital Hall of the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center and live-streamed on Vimeo. Howard Community College President Daria J. Willis unveiled new institutional and athletic branding for the college. The HCC Office of Public Relations and Marketing and its creative services team members designed the updated branding, maintaining the college's traditional colors while modernizing typography and imagery.

Philanthropists Thomas P. Clement and Wonsook Kim have donated $2.5 million to HCC’s Dept. of Engineering, the largest gift in the college’s history. This generous donation will bolster partnerships in HCC's STEM programs. “We are grateful to Thomas and Wonsook for such heartfelt and timely support of our faculty and student scholars,” said HCC President Daria J. Willis. “I could not be more excited about our relationship with this family and the long-term outcomes this gift will create.”

HCC proudly announces a new articulation agreement with the Power52 Foundation, co-founded by visionary Cherie Brooks and NFL Hall of Famer Ray Lewis. Howard Community College (HCC) proudly presents a series of free gallery exhibitions this summer, making the world of arts and culture accessible to the community. Featuring the art of Richard T. Wright and visiting artist Chris Peregoy, the exhibitions will be on display at HCC through August 2024. Learn More!

HCC President Dr. Daria J. Willis announced that Dr. Ty Stone will be the college's Executive VP for Finance and Administration starting July 1, 2024. "Dr. Stone is a professional of the highest caliber and truly lives our ethos of meeting students where they dream," said Dr. Willis. Dr. Stone's portfolio includes the college’s budgeting and finance, facilities management, auxiliary and campus services, public safety, human resources, and information technology departments.
