Ages 8–10. Welcome to STEAM Day! This one-day experience is divided into a morning and afternoon session, each featuring a different topic designed to give you a hands-on preview of your selected class. Morning session: App Design: Build game apps you can play everywhere and anywhere using a web-based development tool. Learn in-demand skills like programming events and coding controls for a touch screen or keyboard and mouse. Afternoon session: Digital Music Production: Design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs to become a digital composer and sound engineer. Students will record sound, make sound effects, and mix their own tracks. Offered in cooperation with Black Rocket Productions, LLC. 1 day. Please send your student(s) with a non-perishable lunch, as students will have a supervised lunch from 12–12:30 p.m

Students will construct machine learning models that use image and text recognition within block-based coding software to build projects. Afternoon session: Video Game Animation: Take your game design skills to the next level! In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to create and animate a sprite in a 2D Video Game environment. Offered in cooperation with Black Rocket Productions, LLC. 1 day. Ages 15+. This updated course will prepare students for both the verbal and math sections of the SAT. Verbal preparation includes interpreting the meanings of relevant words and phrases in context, using close reading to increase comprehension, and identifying central ideas and themes of a text. Math preparation includes mastery of linear expressions, creating and solving equations, using ratios, percentages and units, problem solving, and data analysis. Students should have completed Algebra II. Test taking tips will be covered. This class uses practice tests and exercises to simulate a test-taking environment. Students must bring a calculator. This course is for high school students.

Ages 15+. If you are taking the SAT and only need preparation in the math section, you should take this updated course. Math preparation includes multi-step problems with applications in science, social science, career scenarios, and other real-life contexts. Students should have completed Algebra II. Test taking tips will be included. The class simulates a test-taking environment with practice tests and exercises. You must bring a calculator. This course is for high school students.

Ages 15+. If you are taking the SAT and only need preparation in the verbal section, you should take this updated course. Verbal preparation includes vocabulary and reading comprehension such as understanding the author’s message, rhetoric, synthesis, and understanding relationships in passages. Test taking tips will be included. The class simulates a test-taking environment with practice tests and exercises. This course is for high school students.
