
Social Science - A.A. Degree (Transfer)
Studying the social sciences involves cross-cultural and interdisciplinary thinking as well as the critical analysis of societies from around the world. HCC's Social Sciences associate degree is designed for students interested in transferring to a four-year institution and furthering their education in any of the following disciplines: anthropology, conflict resolution, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, sociology, and social work.
The program features flexibility, allowing students to tailor the level of specialization in a particular discipline while sampling a variety of social science areas.
As a graduate, you should be able to:
- Employ social science concepts, methods, and/or theories to understand behavior, institutions, and/or change over time.
- Apply introductory research skills that social scientists use to gather and interpret information.
- Identify, understand, evaluate, and apply ethical reasoning.
