Automotive Technology - Certificate (Career)
Demand for automotive service technicians continues to grow, fueled by population increases, retirements, and evolving automotive technology. Automotive service technicians and mechanics inspect, maintain, and repair gasoline and electric cars and trucks and larger diesel vehicles. With hands-on training, you’ll be ready for a career that’s always in demand.
Automotive Technology by the Numbers
Automotive technology occupations have an expected growth of 70,000 openings each year, on average, over the decade, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The national median pay for automotive service technicians and mechanics is $44,670 annually and $23.88 per hour.
As demand continues to increase and workers retire or transfer to other positions, newly trained automotive service technicians and mechanics will be needed to handle an increased workload.
