Skilled trades encompass many fields that significantly impact our economy and quality of life. Students in HCC’s skilled trades programs and courses have the opportunity to make a difference through hands-on learning in a new facility equipped with state-of-the-art training technology.

From automotive manufacturing to sustainable construction, the state and its businesses need a workforce that can adapt to changing technologies and environmental regulations. HCC’s skilled trades programs were developed with input from industry experts, reflecting a strong commitment to preparing a highly skilled workforce. With a focus on innovation and adaptability, these programs equip students with the core competencies needed for the jobs of tomorrow while providing stability in essential workforce areas such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, welding technology, and machinery operations.
At Howard Community College, students learn from experienced faculty with industry expertise and gain hands-on project experience in the Cathy and Danny Bell Workforce Development & Trades Center.
