Heartfelt care that meets a critical need.
The cardiovascular technology (CVT) programs prepare students for a profession in a multidisciplinary science dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of patients who have, or may have, cardiac and/or peripheral vascular disease. Here, you will find several academic credit pathways to enter and advance in this in-demand allied health field:
- The Cardiovascular Technology - Invasive Technologist associate career degree* will help prepare you to work in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories performing invasive diagnostic tests and procedures under the direction of a physician. Successful graduates may apply to take the national certification examination to become a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), required by most employers.
- The Cardiac Monitoring and Analysis certificate career program will teach you non-invasive procedures, after which you may apply to take the national exam to become a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT),or apply to advance into HCC's associate degree program.
