
Vahdat Fahimeh

Professor, Studio Art
Fahimeh Vahdat received her AA degree in Arts and Science from Richland Community College in Richardson, Texas. She earned her BFA in Integrated Studio Arts and MFA in painting / printmaking from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. She continued her post graduate studies in lithography at the University of North Texas, Denton, Texas. Vahdat has held faculty and chair positions in various academic settings including Brookhaven Community College, University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Christian university, Milwaukee Institute of Arts & Design and at HCC since 2012. Vahdat has dedicated her life to education and art making processes. Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally in galleries and museums most recently at the Milwaukee Art Museum, New York, Dallas, San Francisco, Baltimore / DC, Argentina, Italy and China. Fahimeh Vahdat was mentor – artist-in- residence at Redline Milwaukee in 2011 and had mentored many artists for several years with MARN program. She still mentors professional artists in the field of Painting and printmaking but also her own students many years after they have graduated. Her artwork is featured in printmaking textbook by Richard Noyce entitled: Printmaking; Off the Beaten Track, i2014 and in other books and publications such as Anglistica, the Journal of International Interdisciplinary Studies magazine. Vahdat has received numerous grants for her artwork including NEA regional grant, Puffin Foundation, and Robert W. Deutsch Foundation Rubys grant in 2018. She has been visiting artist in residence in various universities including JMU and University of the Pacific.
