Bill Gillett is the Chair of Dance, Theatre & Audio Video Production for Howard Community College. He received his bachelor's degree from St. Mary's College of Maryland and his master's degree from the University of Maryland. Bill has taught courses in Acting, Directing, Theatre History, Text Analysis, Stagecraft, Stage Makeup, Lighting Design and Theatre Appreciation. Bill is a member of Actors' Equity Association and has worked as a freelance actor and director. Bill has directed over 30 college and professional productions. Most recently, for Howard Community College, Bill has directed Wonder of the World, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night, and Middletown. Freelance directing credits include, Cabaret and Hair for St. Mary's College of Maryland, 42nd Street for Musical Theatre Center, and Rhinoceros for Prince George's Community College. Bill co-directed for Olney Theatre's National Players 50th tour (Twelfth Night, Cyrano De Bergerac), National Players 58th tour (The Importance of Being Earnest), and Olney Summer Shakespeare's performance of Twelfth Night. Bill also served as acting coach for the National Players 54th, 55th, 56th, and 57th tours. Bill is currently the chair of KCACTF Region 2.
