Rebecca Bafford has a MFA in Ceramics from The George Washington University and a BA in Art and English from James Madison University. She started at HCC in 2006 at the Gallery Director and Ceramics Coordinator and held both roles until 2017. Now she focuses all of her attention on the Ceramics Program. Prior to teaching at HCC she was the Director of the Columbia Art Center for 11 years. While in graduate school she worked as the Studio Manager for four years. Her personal work is primarily made of porcelain and installation in nature. Outside the classroom and studio she enjoys the outdoors with mountain and dirt biking and hiking. She is also a certified mountain bike instructor with IMBA and fosters cattle dogs for the Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association.
