A historian, Dr. Daria J. Willis delivered an inauguration address that reflected on the past and challenged Howard County to look ahead to a bold, inclusive future for Howard Community College and Howard County residents.
A Whole New Day
During Howard Community College’s “Conversations from the Couch,” episode four, HCC President Dr. Daria J. Willis sat on a plush, hot pink sofa and accentuated the school’s name with such oomph and swagger that even the stodgiest alumnus would admit that it rarely sounded so good.
Biography of Daria J. Willis, Ph.D.
Dr. Daria J. Willis serves as the fifth president of Howard Community College. She assumed office in January 2022, following a nation-wide search process and an unanimous vote by the college's Board of Trustees. Dr. Willis is the first African American to lead the college in its history.
