
Nursing and Allied Health
Howard Community College requires the successful completion of an admission exam for entry into its clinical nursing programs. The admission exams administered at HCC are computer-based and scores are valid for two years. On campus testing is available throughout the year by appointment only.
HESI Clinical Nursing Admissions Assessment (A2) and the ATI TEAS
Beginning March 2025 HCC will administer the ATI TEAS as an admissions requirement for the Accelerated RN, Traditional RN, LPN, Paramedic to RN and Military to RN programs. The HESI A2 will be administered until February 14, 2025.

Transferring ATI TEAS scores
If you have taken the ATI TEAS at a different institution and would like to have scores transferred, please refer to the information below. Please note: transcripts must be sent directly from ATI (TEAS).
Before transferring TEAS score, please make sure the following requirements have been met:
- Have an overall composite score of at least 66.5%
- Have a score of at least 69% in both reading and math
- Within the two-years of the application term to be accepted
If you meet these requirements, please log into your ATI account and select ”My Results.” Select the “Send Transcript” option under your results, and select “HOWARD CC MD AND” as the destination. There is a $29.99 fee to have the score transferred.
HESI LPN-RN Mobility Exam
Current, practicing LPNs applying to the clinical portion of the LPN Pathway Sequence Program must successfully complete the HESI LPN-RN Mobility Exam with a minimum score of 750 or 70%. This requirement is in addition to GPA and prerequisite course requirements.
Click here to register and pay for your LPN to RN Mobility exam. Once your registration is received and processed, you will receive scheduling instructions to your HCC email. This process can take up to 48 business hours.
