Auditions for the Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical
Who:
Students and community members high school age+ are invited to audition for the HCC Theatre Program's production of "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical.
When:
Monday, February 5, 6-9 p.m.
Tuesday, February 6, 6-9 p.m.
Where:
The RCF Studio Theatre in the Horowitz Center at HCC
How:
Simply show up for one of the above dates/times and sing 16-32 bars of a song (a verse and a chorus). An accompanist will be available to play sheet music; auditionees may sing along to karaoke from their phones if they prefer. Each person will then read a provided short scene of their choice. For those wishing to practice in advance, sides are available for pick-up in the Performing Arts Office, HVPA 110.
Additional Information:
Performances will take place May 2-5, 2024 in Smith Theatre.
Callbacks will be held on Monday Feb. 12, 6-9pm. Those called back will be notified within 24 hours after their audition.
The director is looking to cast 10-14 actors in the production. There will be some doubling while some roles are not doubled like they were in the Broadway production. All should audition for any role that interests them.

Annabeth: Daughter of Athena, smartest of all
Grover: A happy-go-lucky satyr, like a hippie kid with hooves
Luke: Son of Hermes, cool camp counselor, older teen
Sally Jackson: Percy’s amazing, hard-working mother
Mr. Brunner aka Chiron: Wise centaur, part-time Latin teacher
Clarrise: Daughter of Ares, fierce fighter with something to prove
Mr. D: aka Dionysus, god of wine, snarky camp director
Silena Beauregard: Daughter of Aphrodite, has issues with her mother
Katie Gardner: Daughter of Demeter, will do anything to protect trees
Ares: God of war, rock star in a leather jacket
Charon: Ferryperson to the Underworld
Hades: God of the dead, moody and melodramatic
Poseidon: God of the sea, salty beach bum
Gabe Ugliano: Percy’s foul stepfather
Mrs. Dodds: A Fury posing as a substitute teacher
Aunty Em: An avid sculptor seeking revenge
