Trish Schneider, M&T Bank

“The students that come out of HCC enrich our branches and reflect the diversity in the greater community, creating a comfortable environment for our customers.”
As Senior Vice President at M&T Bank, Trish Schneider is passionate about promoting financial literacy and banking best practices in the community. To best support M&T Bank’s customers, she also recognizes the critical importance of a well-trained, diverse, and adaptable workforce. Since the early 1980s, M&T Bank has partnered with HCC to provide pathways to success for students interested in pursuing careers in the banking industry. As a part of this partnership, students have an opportunity to pursue their education with HCC while benefiting from mentorship opportunities with M&T Bank.
"What makes the partnership special is that we both focus on helping individuals succeed. HCC helps individuals who've recently come to the United States transition through the Skilled Immigrants Program while we provide a successful and diverse space for them to grow."
In addition to the collaboration with HCC’s Skilled Immigrant Program, M&T Bank has contributed more than $274,000 to the HCC Educational Foundation and is a member of the President's Circle. M&T Bank actively participates in special events that raise funds for student scholarships, including the HCC 5K Challenge Race and the Silas Craft Collegians Dinner. M&T Bank has also become the title sponsor for Vino Scholastico, HCC's premier wine-tasting event.
Schneider takes great pride in the impact M&T Bank's contributions have on the greater community. "Helping Howard Community College has always been in line with our purpose of being a community bank and supporting our customers,” said Schneider. “In many ways, we focus on the same things: advice, guidance, and, most importantly, education."
