
Alison Canning, HCC Educational Foundation Board

"As members of the HCC Educational Foundation Board, we have a responsibility to serve as ambassadors for the college while supporting students by raising funds that will ensure they have the resources necessary to succeed in school and life."
Alison Canning began her career in the financial services industry after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in English from Towson University, with a concentration in business and technical writing. For 20 years, she has helped her clients plan for retirement and set personal investment strategies as a wealth management advisor for Morgan Stanley. In 2022, she earned the Qualified Plan Financial Consultant® - QPFC® certification, demonstrating her knowledge and commitment to working with qualified retirement plans regarding plan administration, compliance, investment, fiduciary, and ethics issues. In 2023, Alison earned the Portfolio Manager - PM designation within Morgan Stanley's Portfolio Management Program, which allows a select group of Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors qualified by the firm—based on training, experience, and commitment—to make investment decisions on their clients' behalf and independently manage assets. She was also named a Five Star Wealth Manager in Baltimore, Highest in Service and Overall Satisfaction in 2022 and 2023.
