The most beautiful thing in the world is the moon—but more beautiful than the moon is you.
On days without you, I often gaze at the moon. That soft, flowing moonlight is like your face.
The moon soothes, gently soothing my heart, and my tears soak into its light.
The moon is in the sky far away from me, just as you are at the edge of the sea, and I am at the ends of the earth.
No matter how high the moon rises, it cannot surpass the sky. No matter how far you go, you can’t escape my longing.
When I look at the moon, I often think of you; when I look at you, I think of the moon.

From afar, a gust of autumn wind blows in, hanging the branches full of fruit, just waiting for the season of sowing to arrive.

The lark sings as it flies across the sky—Pamir, how beautiful my homeland is,
The pastures are green, the cattle and sheep are fat, the fragrance of barley drifts, intoxicating. The clear spring water of Karasu, moon Lake, red roses— When the eagle flute echoes, fine horses race across the grass.
Ah… play the rawap and sing— how sweet are the days of harvest.
The full moon on the fifteenth is so bright. Oh Pamir, how beautiful my homeland is.
The towering ice peaks shimmer with silver light, in the quiet valleys, the evening wind blows. The Tashkurgan outposts, the ice-field patrols,across a thousand miles of border stands a fortress of iron.
Ah… Pamir, my homeland is endlessly beautiful, I will always be enchanted by you.

Everywhere I look, your vague aspect gives birth to love in me and my thought
Als die alte Mutter When my old mother
When my old mother taught me songs to sing, Tears would well strangely in her eyes. Now my brown cheeks are wet with tears, When I teach the children how to sing and play!
