    • Self-Preservation as a First Generation Student Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm Locations: Burrill Galleria Details:

Join us as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on October 5th from 11 AM - 1 PM for a talk with Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodriguez about self-preservation for first generation students! When you are the first in your family to attend college, there are a lot of unknown aspects. We will explore topics relevant to first-gen students, such as your parents not understanding your life, the isolation that occurs when you get an education, and how to remain connected to your roots. The event is virtual but there will be a viewing party in back Galleria from 11 AM- 1 PM. Diversity index number 0911.  Visit tinyurl.com/HCCVirtualEvents for the link to the virtual session.

This is a collaboration between Student Life, Ambiciones, Counseling and Career Services, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
