Learning Assistance and Tutoring
All group and individual tutoring appointments will be conducted via the Zoom platform. Visit our student services page for current information on how to access the services you need from home.
Want to improve your study skills or get help with a particular subject? That's why we're here.
At the Learning Assistance Center (LAC), we provide academic support services to all credit students enrolled at Howard Community College who wish to become more successful, efficient, and independent learners. Scheduled tutoring is available in most credit courses offered at the college for one hour each week in each course. Our tutors are both professional and peer tutors, many of whom have been certified by the College Reading and Learning Association.

Drop-in Tutoring (Virtual)
For students who only have a few questions or need additional help beyond their scheduled tutoring, drop-in tutoring is available in Math, English and some of the science courses. The drop-in tutoring schedule and Zoom link are available on the portal. Students will need to log into MyHCC to access.
Students who qualify for the Student Support Services Program (TRIO), which is a federally funded program, are entitled for one-on-one tutoring for credit courses.
Scheduled group tutoring is offered for most credit courses to enrolled students. There is no cost for this service. If you are interested in receiving tutoring, please fill out and submit the following forms to our office.
