Communication Studies - A.A. Degree (Transfer)

Interpersonal communication class
Explore the art and science of human communication.

Communication Studies focuses on the processes and effects of human communication through speech, writing, and media. Courses cover a wide range of interests from public speaking fundamentals to intercultural communication, digital media to broadcasting, creative writing to technical writing, and more. 

This curriculum is designed to help you transfer to a four-year institution, majoring in a wide range of communication and media programs.

As a graduate, you should be able to

  • Identify, understand, evaluate, and apply ethical reasoning to the practices of communication.
  • Develop self-confidence in the ability to redefine and overcome communication obstacles.
  • Evaluate context and adapt communication approach and message accordingly.
  • Deliver clear, appropriate messages through the most appropriate channels in order to generate shared understanding.
