Container Gardening
The art of container gardening is full of possibilities from ornamental to edible, or even a mix of the two. Let Christian Melendez instruct you on the best practices and combinations to realize your vision for your space. Study floral arrangements, vegetable and fruit growing plants and spend some time examining and discussing container types, especially those that are self-watering, solving every gardener’s dilemma.

From Seeds to Blooms

As the winter drags on, thoughts of spring take root. Join Christian Melendez and learn how to start and propagate your own seedlings. By adapting the basic elements that greenhouse growers use, gardeners in this class use creativity in their space to get a head start on the growing season by starting their own seedlings from seed and propagating existing plants...all on a budget. Other benefits to starting your own seedlings include ensuring higher quality and timing your plants so they are ready to go for planting.

Gardening in Changing Climate *NEW*
Have you ever wondered how the increasingly weird weather is affecting your garden or home landscape? After a brief overview of how climate change works and how it is impacting our weather, you will consider how climate change is already impacting our gardens and what you can do to

Introduction to Chesapeake Bay Watershed Stewards *NEW*

In this class you’ll receive an overview of requirements for certification as a Master Watershed Steward, and obtain an overview of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. You can address your concerns about water quality issues on your property, in your neighborhood and in your county. This class will introduce you to some of the problems associated with stormwater and their solutions to appropriate property and water quality management, related to the health of our local
streams and the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Understand why citizen behavior is vital, both locally and globally, to the sustainability of our natural resources. Learn about the requirements for becoming a Master Watershed Steward. .2 CEUs.
