Certified Nursing Assistant

Certified Nursing Assistant Course

Become a Certified Nursing Assistant

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) collaborate with health care teams in hospitals, assisted living centers, and in individual patients’ homes to work on the front lines of the health care field by tending to patients’ most important needs. With additional certification training, today’s CNAs are learning to attend to a wide variety of patient care including delivering babies, administering medications, assisting in surgical procedures and more.

Certified Nursing Assistant Training at HCC

In six to eight weeks, you can be ready for a new career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. You’ll learn from experienced and professionally trained nursing instructors, who work and live in the community. HCC’s partnerships with area hospitals, businesses, and organizations provide CNA graduates with unique opportunities for rewarding careers.

HCC’s training meets Maryland Board of Nursing regulations. Upon successful completion of this training, you will obtain a CNA license from the Maryland Board of Nursing and be well-prepared to take the State Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) Examination.

Theory and clinical sections are taken simultaneously, but you must register for both sections. The entire program is 145 hours (100 hours of theory training and 45 hours of clinical training). You will earn 14.5 CEUs upon completion of the course.
