Prepare to Become a Certified Master Watershed Steward
Master Watershed Steward Certification prepares volunteers that help protect, restore, and aid in the conservation of local watersheds within their own communities. This course will teach the skills needed to assess residential stormwater issues such as: understanding soil profiles, GIS land application, and other citizen science based tools required to apply best management practices to help treat stormwater related conditions. During this course participants will be required to complete the certification process which has a lecture component (September–December) as well as, a capstone project component that involves practical demonstration of acquired skills through community-based activities (January–June). Please Note: Prior to to start of the class, a mandatory background check must be completed. This course is offered in partnership with University of Maryland Extension and the classes will be held virtually. No refund seven days prior to course start date. 5.2 CEUs.
