About International Education

The Office of International Education is now offering in-person, Zoom, and telephone appointments for students interested in international academic opportunities including COIL, Global Distinction, and upcoming Study Abroad programs. All appointments must be arranged in advance by emailing or calling 443.518.1640.

International Education provides a variety of opportunities for students to engage in international activities both on and off campus.  Students can participate in short-term faculty-led Travel Study Abroad programs, Virtual Study Abroad programs, COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) Courses, the Global Distinction Program, and International Education Week.

All of our programs and events help the HCC community explore diverse perspectives and global content and gain international experience and global skills.

We look forward to working with you as you explore international education at HCC!

  • International Education Week

International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State is part of efforts to promote programs that prepare people for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences (US Department of State).

During International Education Week, faculty, staff, and students host and facilitate a variety of events, such as presentations, films, workshops, and social gatherings, that focus on international and intercultural themes.  If you are interested in participating or proposing an event, please contact International Education staff via

International Education Week 2021 will take place from November 15-18 and is sponsored in collaboration by International Education, Admissions, World Languages, Ambiciones, Student Life, and the English Institute.  The event calendar will be shared in early November.
