    Prof. Rick Leith's Ethics in Lit students discuss in the pre-recorded videos the issues concerning the pros and cons of book banning and present information on books recently challenged or banned in the U.S. as well as some challenged or banned during the last several decades. This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Service Learning and the HCC Library.

    Be the Match Stem Cell Drive

    On Wednesday, October 28th from 1:00 - 3:00pm join students from MLT 208 - Immunohematology (Blood Bank) class course to learn more about Be the Match and how you can help save a life by registering as a stem cell donor.  Throughout this virtual event there will be valuable information on the great work done by Be the Match and various guest speakers who can share more about their own experience as donors!

    Students from Prof. Kathy Norton’s two Intro to Business Management classes will educate the community about Fair Trade and will share videos about the various products that will be available for sale in collaboration with SERRV, an organization fighting global poverty through fair and ethical trade. A direct link will be shared with the HCC community in order to view items and shop from the online sale which will not only directly support SERRV and the artisans, but will also support the HCC Educational Foundation with 20% of the total online sales. The Global Giving Market directly promotes the values of fair trade including community development, environmental stewardship and fair labor conditions.

    Passion Project & Film Showcase

    Canvas - November 30th - December 4th

    Two of Prof. Brooke Tyson's ENGL-121 classes present the Passion Project and Film Showcase! Join us on Canvas beginning November 30th for this exciting diversity event.  Watch student pre-recorded videos about various social issues and learn about recent documentary films that discuss these topics. Diversity credit will be available for faculty and staff! Diversity Index #0314.
