Help Desk Support Technician
HCC's IT Help Desk Support Technician apprenticeship program is designed for apprentices who will work as entry-level help desk technicians for local companies, progressively gaining new skills and IT certifications. Key roles and responsibilities might include: troubleshooting computers, installing cables and software, providing technical support, and resolving IT tickets. Apprentices will complete 23 on-the-job training work competencies over the course of one year. Upon successful completion, apprentices will be eligible to earn certifications in Google IT Support, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4, and Project Management Institute (PMI) - Agile Certified Practitioner.
Requirements for Admission
Standard requirements for admission are:
- Be 18 years of age or older by the program start date.
- Earned high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to meet physical job requirements.
- Have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation.
Eligible Candidates
The Help Desk Technician Apprenticeship program is open to prospective and current HCC students, as well as professionals currently working who are interested in the IT industry.
