Social Sciences
Explore the social, cultural, behavioral, historical, and political branches within the eclectic discipline of the social sciences.
HCC's Social Sciences associate degree allows students the flexibility to explore a variety of fields while fulfilling the lower-division general education requirements for transfer to a bachelor's degree program. The challenging curriculum includes coursework in anthropology, archeology, criminal justice, conflict resolution, economics, geology, history, politics, psychology, sociology, and social work.
The Social Sciences faculty are experts in their respective fields, and instruct students through both lecture and field experiences, including opportunities for service learning and study abroad. Students interested in a broad, general degree may also be interested in our Associate of Arts for General Studies.
